Living Consciously Practical Intensives
Saturday, 3 February 2007
to Sunday, 3 February 2008
Living Consciously Practical Intensives occur frequently throughout the year at the Satyananda Yoga Ashram near Daylesford. A Living Consciously Intensive over 4 days offers a more indepth experience of exciting subjects such as What is Raja Yoga, A State of Union - Asana Intensive, Relaxation - the secret of Transformation, Yoga and Abundance, Ritual and Mantra Chanting, Learning from Life, Create Conscious Lifestyle Changes and many more.
The next few months at The Convent, Daylesford feature the follwing exhibitions Marc Chagall 1887 - 1985 'COLLECTION OF LITHOGRAPHS' Clearly the magic of Marc Chagall is in the images of childhood memories that float through many of his works. Chagall's work is honest and direct in its revelation of the artist's character. Chagall proved himself one of the 20th century's great masters of art. Colourful Women Textile Artists 'JOURNEYINGS' Textiles Without a doubt, the life experiences of the Colourful Women group influence the contemporary and innovative works they create through fabric, colour, texture, stitch and space. A diverse range of media is explored by the artists and includes screen-printing, dying, silk painting, acrylics, felting and hand and machine stitch. Kim Anderson 'LOST FOUND' A collection of works on paper and works on mirrors. What does our body tell us about our mind within? This is the question Kim seeks to portray in her most recent body of work to be exhibited at The Convent. "Every crease of skin carries something of our history. Our greatest emotions reside not just within the heart or brain, they course through every part of this living, breathing, soft, pink, warm, wrinkly, hairy form that we 'inhabit' ". Often working with charcoal on paper, Kim has recently begun working 'drawing' on glass. Therefore her exhibition is a collection of the two mediums. Carolyn Buckley 'DIARY OF THE MIND' Photomontage Carolyn stepped from the classroom into Japanese culture for 5 years, and this was the beginning of what has become a life changing passion. Photomontage is now Carolyn's main focus. She has been the recipient of a number of photographic awards from Japan, Shanghai and Australia. Diary of the Mind is Carolyn's first solo exhibition. Furthermore Dr Simonne Jameson of Arts Sans Frontiers will be conducting a Free Talk about the Chagall Collection and her meeting of artists Marc Chagall and Pablo Picasso July 15th at 2.00pm at The Convent.
